Brands That Support Female Empowerment

With female empowerment at an all time high and having just passed equal pay day, it is time to focus on making better fashion decisions that support women around the world. After all, fashion is about much more than just looking good, it’s about feeling good and making others feel good as well. Here are some brands that are not only sources of incredibly chic clothing, but also supporters of causes that truly matter.

Gilt x Together We Rise

This clothing collaboration between Gilt and the organizers of the Women’s March resulted in empowering graphic tees and hoodies that are not only adorable, but spread powerful messages of love and support.  To make things even better, 100% of the proceeds from this collaboration go to Girls Who Code, an organization whose goal is to close the gender gap in technology skills.

DVF #InCharge Collection

On International Women’s Day, Diane von Furstenberg released a capsule collection whose proceeds go to Vital Voices, a non-profit organization that helps women across the world make a difference in their communities. From tees to handbags, the #InCharge collection allows women to make a statement while accessorizing.

#ArieRoleModel Collection

In partnership with strong females such as Aly Raisman, Yara Shahidi and more, Arie launched their empowering new collection that includes everything from leggings and t-shirts to sweatshirts and even swimsuits. Each piece features a slogan or motto of one of the brand’s Role Models. What makes this collaboration so important, however, is that 100% of the proceeds are donated to charities chosen by the brand ambassadors.

Ultimately, fashion is more than just keeping up with the latest trends and collections. It’s truly a platform that allows for expression, collaboration and most importantly, empowerment. Designers using this platform to create collections that help people around the world is something we hope to see more of in the industry.
