The Kitten Heel Is Back 🐱
The most iconic shoe for one of the 90's favorite it-girls has made it's way back into fashion after being presented at the top fashion designers runways such as Vetements and Balenciaga (both under the creative direction of Demna Gvasalia). Dior's very own kitten-heel was a huge hit after Maria Grazia Churi's re-invention of the it-shoe of the season - you know wich ones, the ribbed fabric pair with dressmaker’s cream ribbon wrapped around the slingback, logoed with J’ADIOR .
Kittens have been quietly returning to the catwalks for a couple of seasons now. And when the most influential designers of the moment agree on a trend, you can be sure everyone else will follow.
You can also expect Gucci's very own version of the shoe after creative director Alessandro Michele has clearly been rummaging the archives of the eponymous Italian Fashion House. Their very own bamboo kitten heel was originally designed in the 00's during Tom Ford's tenure.
Céline did their very own take on the kitten heel by creating a butter-yellow kitten-heeled pair of mules, as well as Prada doing their sequined version of the iconic shoe.
However, we are toning it down this season, as much as I enjoyed looking at Lady Di's iconic outfit choices, it is clear that this season the elegant shoe is to be paired up with tracksuit trousers and boyfriend t-shirts.
